Eitz Action

“It is not incumbent upon you to complete the work, but neither are you at liberty to desist from it” (Avot 2:21) attributed to Rabbi Tarfon.

The Eitz Action Committee coordinates activities of the congregation that  promote Tikkun Olam. We work to repair our broken world through involvement in social and environmental justice projects within our local and global communities.

The Eitz Action Committee usually meets the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Supporting Afghan Refugees

FAIR: Fund for Afghan Immigrants and Refugees

Several Ways to support JCRC's work:

Here are three ways you can provide for the immediate needs of Afghan immigrants and refugees:

SPONSOR A FAMILY: Team up with synagogue members, school groups, or other communities to sponsor a family with furnishings and funds, or help to meet other needs. We are leading and implementing a community-wide synagogue response. To learn more, contact JCRC Director of Synagogue Organizing Rachie Lewis.

HELP FIND HOUSING: Help JCRC find housing for immigrants and refugees arriving in Boston. Our community has already given generous amounts to subsidize families in market-rate apartments. If you have, or anyone you know has, a home to rent, contact Rachie Lewis.

GIVE: Our partners at CJP have set up a new fund, and 100% of your gift will provide direct support through Catholic Charities of Boston and Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) to the families and individuals resettling in Boston. Assistance will include food, housing, employment services, and other basic needs.

Eitz Chayim is proud to be a part of the Cambridge Interfaith Sanctuary Coalition (CISC). We will continue to update this page with information about CISC as well as information about other social and environmental justice causes that are important to our community.
